Powerful learning is connected, collaborative, and future focused. We are passionate about enabling learners and educators to be successful in an accelerating world.
Powerful learning never stops. We understand the importance of supporting young people to navigate the challenges of an accelerating world.
Learning Media has created two white papers that discuss current issues around e-learning and explain how Learning Media can help you shape your e-learning strategy.
This first white paper introduces e-learning and covers:
- the importance and benefits of e-learning
- the problems and issues around e-learning, for example, the lack of ways to evaluate it, the shortage of trained staff, and how to deal with continual changes in technology
- Learning Media's work in e-learning
- the services Learning Media offers to help organisations make the most of e-learning.
The second white paper explains Khan’s framework (Managing E-learning, 2005) for helping organisations create successful e-learning environments – getting the right content, in the right format, to the right people, at the right time.
The paper describes the increased demand for e-learning, it looks specifically at the benefits of Khan's framework (see Figure 1), and it describes how Learning Media applies Khan’s framework to help clients create successful e-learning programmes.
Our multimedia resources
Our blended approach to resource development offers flexible ways to support teaching and learning. We embed our knowledge of pedagogy in exciting, accessible multimedia environments.
Our understanding of the practical use of technology is based on our wide experience in designing tools and content for effective learning.
We constantly review our digital resources to ensure they help today’s learners develop the skills for tomorrow.
Future-focused teaching and learning
What does it mean to become literate? In this information age, it means learning to navigate and create texts – and this is an absorbing, lifelong journey. Using an inquiry framework, we support teachers to develop innovative practices that enhance students’ abilities to make, evaluate, and create meaning across the full range of media.
We believe that authentic professional learning should be situated in meaningful contexts, and that it should be responsive and flexible. Our online communities offer a blended approach to support collaborative, professional learning tailored to the needs of the people we work with.
